Jurrien Noot

Jurrien Noot is a former naval intelligence officer of the Royal Netherlands Navy. He served on the staff of the Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic from 1985-1992. During his career he was involved in analysing threat related developments in world naval capabilities and naval construction. Together with Norman Polmar he was co-author of "Submarines of the Russian and Soviet Navies 1718-1990", published by the US Naval Institute in 1991. He retired from the navy in 1999 and became a consultant to Jane's Information Group in 2002. He is currently the sole editor of Jane's Naval Construction and Retrofit Markets.
